James was a native of the former St. Ives Compact. She was only fifteen when the Compact was “re-integrated” into the Capellan Confederation, crushing her dream of some day serving the Compact. Instead, she floated around the Inner Sphere for some time before landing a stable internship with the Flaming Devil Monkeys.
James was the youngest member of the Monkeys and less confident in her abilities than the other warriors, although she showed superior skills for someone with her experience. She greatly admired Bane to the point of hero worship.
Beatrix James was killed in action on Chamdo in the Capellan Confederation from massive feedback caused by simultaneous ammunition explosions. Given her “Capellan” roots, the people of Chamdo revere her as a war hero and a martyr for their cause.
