Scott is from the Cerulean system in Federated Suns space. He also claims to be the illegitimate child of Jackson Davion. Its impossible to corroborate his claim, but it appears that he did have some help in earning a spot at the NAIS. He claims that to avoid conflicts with legitimate children he was discouraged from becoming a mechwarrior and instead chose the path of an aerospace pilot.

Scott graduated from the NAIS at the close of the FedCom Civil War. With the Federated Suns in shambled and his connection to Jackson Davion – Katherine Steiner-Davion’s war leader – a potential hinderance rather than an advantage, Scott chose to go the mercenary route. He joined an outfit called McMillian’s Aces and his primary duty was escoring merchant vessels through the turbulent shipping routes of the Jihad.

The duty was fairly low risk until his unit was tasked with escort an archaelogist named Brooklyn Stevens. They weren’t really ready for trouble and when Manei Domini units suddenly converged on their position from a pirate point, it was a slaughter. Scott managed to eject from his ship before its destruction. He floated in space with his emergency transponder on, not expecting rescue before his oxygen ran out. Amazingly, he floated into the path of another merchant ship and was rescued. Determined to get revenge for his unit, Scott headed to Arc-Royal to join up with Stone’s coalition. It was there that he was recruited into the Monkeys.
