Liam Ramsay had barely earned his billet on the Fourth Skye Rangers when the Third Skye Rebellion began. He was an ardent Skye patriot and fought with valor in the battle of Hesperus where he was badly wounded. He learned of Robert Kelswa-Steiner’s turn of heart as he lay recuperating on a hospital bed. Feeling betrayed, he gave up his place in the Fourth. As soon as he was well enough, he travelled to Solaris where he hoped to join a Skye-oriented stable, or start a new one. However, the Jihad broke out shortly after his arrival and Ramsay found himself pressed into service as a member of the SHDL. Without a mech, he served as a technician for much of the occupation. Toward the end of the occupation, he ended up with working as a technician for the Monkeys, where he made friends who soon learned about his mechwarrior past. When the Monkeys looked to expand after the liberation, they asked Ramsay if he would like to join. He was sorely torn by his desire to return to defend Skye from the blakists and his loyalty to his newfound comrades, but in the end it was personal connections that made the decision easy.
