Major Andrews is a native of the Crucis March in the Federated Suns, and comes from a family that has long served House Davion with unswerving loyalty and conviction. A member of the very conservative 22nd Avalon Hussars, his loyalty in the recent FedCom Civil War clearly belonged to Katherine Steiner-Davion. Andrews saw a great deal of action with the 22nd and came out of the war a battle-hardened veteran, but also deeply depressed about the final outcome of the war. He was shot down in the final orbital battle over New Avalon. Rather than serve the man he holds responsible for usurping the throne, he turned his back on the Davions and left the AFFS. He took a job as a test pilot for Bowie Industries on Alarion.

Once the Jihad began, however, Andrews could not stand sitting on the sidelines. He eventually quit his job and made his way to Galatea, where he hired on with the Flaming Devil Monkeys. Using Andrews’ contact with Bowie Industries, Jacob Hawker was able to acquire two Chippewa fighters to fill out the Monkeys new air lance.

Major Andrews is a bit unusual for the monkeys. He keeps his creases tight and his shoes well polished. He is timely, follows orders, and expects his own orders to be followed without comment. Needless to say, this has made his integration with the Monkeys a little difficult. The other Monkey personnel have also made something of a joke out of the corrspondence of his rank and first name, giving him the callsign “Major.” Thus, his full title is Major Major “Major” Andrews.
