Bishop was a household name on Solaris VII in the sixties, although she was more famous for her magazine pin-ups than her fighting skill. Discovered by an advertising agency while a young pilot, she became a model for various brands on Solaris VII, promoting the gladiatorial lifestyle and looking good doing it in a rather skimpy jumpsuit. She quickly became known to her admirers as the “Steiner Babe” in reference to her origin on Arc-Royal (although she bears no relation to the royal family). Her modeling career left little time for actual fighting, however, and despite some potential talent, her skills never fully blossomed.

Her modeling career was heading downhill by the late sixties, both due to age (she was all of thirty years of age) and by her decision to publicly support Katherine Steiner-Davion in the FedCom civil war. As a result, she was signed by the Flaming Devil Monkeys relatively cheaply, and to mutual benefit. The Monkeys benefited from the press they received for reviving the career of this “aging” star and her mech skills benefited from the tutelage of Bane and other more experienced stable hands.

Like many of the Monkeys, Bishop has something of a chip on her shoulder and feels she doesn’t get enough respect on the battlefield. She would like nothing better than to prove that she is not just another pretty face. Thus, she had not hesitation in following Bane when he left the game world.

With the expansion of the Monkeys to four mech lances in 3069, they were in need of more officers, and Bishop had the experience and seniority to earn a promotion to Lieutenant. She moved into Major Mbeki’s Gorilla lance as second in command, freeing Mbeki to fulfill his role as XO and second in command of overall forces. When the Monkeys then expanded to a second company in 3072, Bishop was given full command of the Bonobo lance.
