Blane hails from the Federated Suns outback. He comes from a long line of independent wranglers, but he gained admission to the AFFC through the training battalion program. However, his tenure was very short as he refused to vow loyalty to Katherine Steiner-Davion during her rise to power. He made his way to Solaris VII, but the ink was still wet on his contract with the White Hand stables when Solaris City erupted into riots over the Vandergriff-Searcy debacle. Blane spent most of his time protecting civilian facilities from collateral damage. He enjoyed a brief career as a gladiator once the fighting died down only to be thrust again into real fighting with the Blakist occupation. He fought with the Flaming Devil Monkeys twice during the final months of that campaign. When they extended their roster after liberation, he was one of the first they asked to join. Deciding that fate did not want him to be a gladiator, he agreed.

Blane is used to piloting a lighter mech, but the Monkeys have assigned him to a Black Hawk-KU. He is still adjusting to the larger machine.
