Seifu Kwasi grew up in a farming commune on Bountiful Harvest, a vital agricultural breadbasket in the Lyran Commonwealth. He was training on agromechs at an early age, but dreamed of something bigger. As soon as he turned 16, he joined the planetary militia. After years of hard work, he finally earned a spot as a mechwarrior in the single company of ancient battlemechs maintained by the militia.

Kwasi longed for some action to prove his abilities, but his dream became a nightmare when Bountiful Harvest was first raided by Jade Falcons in 3070 and then by the Word of Blake’s Fiftieth Shadow Division in 3073. He survived the Falcon raid, although his mech suffered nearly catastrophic damage and he was forced to eject. His mech had just been cleared for use again when the Blakists hit. Fighting alongside Clan Wolf-in-Exile, the defenders of Bountiful Harvest were able to push back the Fiftieth Shadow. Kwasi acquitted himself well with two kills before his mech was utterly destroyed by an ammunition explosion. With the planetary militia nearly destroyed, Kwasi decided to go to Arc-Royal where members of Devlin Stone’s coalition were gathering. He planned to present himself as a candidate to join the coalition, but what he found was that the planet was inundiated with young idealists like himself.

Luck struck however, when Kwasi met several members of the Flaming Devil Monkeys while playing pick-up soccer near one of the maintenance facilities. They took him back to HQ and tested out his skills. He performed well enough to earn a spot.
