Paulik grew up in the slums of Solaris City. Surrounded by the wealth and glamour of the gladiator lifestyle, Paulik dreamed of nothing more than finding glory in the arenas, but his humble origins gave him virtually no chance of achieving that dream. Instead, Paulik got involved with gangs and eventually became the leader of a gang of hoodlums who used ritual scarification and various piercings to intimidate others. Put in jail after an unsuccessful mugging, he had the good fortune to end up in the same cell as a media agent trying to sleep off his DUI. The canny agent saw the potential in Paulik - not mechwarrior potential (although it luckily turned out that he did possess some of that too), but marketing potential. Naming him “Bonesaw”, the agent marketed him as a savage primitive warrior from the periphery and got him a deal at a low end stable. It was more than Paulik could have dreamed and he made good on his luck, eventually becoming a decent competitor and well-known name in the arenas.

Unfortunately, Paulik is often easily influenced by others and so when many of his stablemates sided with the Wobbies, Paulik joined suit. He was shot out of his mech in the final days of the occupation by the Monkeys. Normally, the Monkeys would have never considered taking on a Blakist sympathizer, but several of the Monkeys had known Bonesaw in their Solaris days, and lobbied for a second chance. Paulik’s inclusion caused some dissension in the ranks, especially among those who are most admantly anti-blakist, and his assimilation into the Monkeys was not easy.

Paulik eventually did find a new home with the Monkeys, but sadly it was not to last for long. In the final battle on Luthien against Belial, Paulik was killed when his mech exploded from a fusion engine containment breach.
